I haven't read this article, but I know that there is a lot of potential to make a two-channel, reverb Fender amp into a hard-rockin' dynamo by using a handful of non-destructive mods. If you have a master volume, change it to a post-pi master. In the normal channel, take the tone stack off of the first gain stage, convert the tone stack to tweed or Marshall specs, put a MOSFET source follower after the 2nd gain stage, and drive the tone stack from the source follower. In the Vibrato channel, change the 3 meg resistor that feeds the dry signal into the reverb recovery tube to a 1-meg resistor. Or, replace the channel volume pot with the push-pull pot from the master volume (if you have one), and use the switch to connect a 1 or 2 meg resistor in parallel with the 3 meg.
