In my experience with my Marshall style homebuilts, 160-180 volts on the plates of the first preamp tube is a good thing! That really seems to be a sweet spot in my opinion. When I first fired up my JTM 45 clone I had closer to 210 on V1 and it was cleaner and less pleasing to my ear. I ended up changing the last power supply dropping resistor before V1 from 22K from 10K to get closer to 180V or so.
