The Traynor silver grille cloth can be purchased through a number of Canadian music stores. I'm talking to Murch Music in Cambridge, Ontario and 12th Fret, In Toronto Ontario. As for the knobs, check out Songbird Music in Toronto. They provided me with a some Traynor knows a couple of years ago. All three of the stores that I have mentioned have web sites and their real nice people to deal with. Rick Some other simple mods you can try are to; - increase the value of the plate resistor on V2A to 220K (more distortion) - add a .68uF cap to the cathode of V2A (higher gain in midrange) The ground polarity switch is irrelevant with a three prong plug. The green wire of the new cord must be attached to chassis ground. If you have a high wattage soldering gun, just solder it to one of the existing ground points around the filter caps. Make sure this connection is good. You can then just snip off the ground lead from the cap attached to the ground switch and remove the switch. If you decide to mount another control (master volume?) this will give you a free control position. The new config looks like this; - one black lead of PT primary attached to fuse holder. White lead of power cord attached to other terminal of fuse holder. - second black lead of PT primary attached to on/off switch. Black lead of cord attached to other terminal of on/off switch. Make sure switch is mounted so that up = on. It is up to you as to whether you decide to keep the accessory plug. I usually remove it and install an octal socket there (the mounting holes are the same placement) to use as a bias test point. If you want to do this, email me and I will give you the details. The cord replacement is very easy and the life you save could be your own. =========================================================== another way to wire the 3 prong cord is: -green wire with a lug to one of the power transformer bolts. add an extra nut to hold it in place. -black wire to the fuse holder, wire from other lug of fuse holder to power switch, other side of power switch to 1 black lead of the power transformer. -white wire wire straight to other black lead of power transformer. some electrical engineers i work with felt it was safer to fuse the hot wire, not the neutral. i don't know which is right, this is just another way to wire it........
