If you were into the rock scene during the 70’s, we are pretty sure you came across the then-popular band – New York Dolls. They were among the first few bands who popularized the punk rock genre. Even though they were popular and had a cult following for their music initially, it was difficult for them to strike deals with big brands because of their unorthodox dressing. They were able to land a deal with Mercury records for starters. However, after back to back failed albums, Mercury records dropped the contract.
In spite of all the efforts from hiring a new manager to going on multiple tours, none of their albums hit the top of the charts. Many band members quite and eventually they stopped producing music. That was the end for a band that seemed to have immense potential.
